Biography

Born and raised in Middletown, USA (otherwise known as Muncie, Ind.). Attended Ball State University and graduated with a degree in journalism. Began working in journalism at the age of 16, covering high school basketball in Indiana for my father, the sports editor.

Moved to New Jersey to work in motorsports full-time at National Speed Sport News in 1988 and stayed through 1998 as associate editor. Went to The Nashville Network in '99 as associate editor for motorsports, then advanced to the editorship of Circle Track Magazine in 2001.

Served as Trackside Communications Manager for GM Racing in 2003, and became Communications Director for the ONMC in 2005.

In between all that, I got married, had two lovely girls and wrote books on Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. I began writing for NASCAR.COM in 2004, covering races and providing the weekly business feature as well as appearing as a sometimes-guest on Track Smack.
