Dave Blaney's new ride made history before it ever rolled off the truck. The journeyman driver's Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet is the first in NASCAR history to bear sponsorship of a hard liquor distillery.

Consequently, the new Action Performance scale reproduction of the No. 07 Jack Daniel's Monte Carlo is the very first NASCAR die-cast to reflect such sponsorship. Given the tremendous worldwide following of Jack Daniels, it could prove to be one of the most sought-after new collectibles of 2005.

"I think that's a huge and popular brand and logo," Blaney said in reference to the Jack Daniel's name and the collectibles that are sure to be a big part of the company's NASCAR program. "We've had a lot of fans so far be excited about it and want to get stuff. The stuff I've seen so far looks great --the merchandise I've seen--the die-cast cars, the shirts, and all the apparel. It always helps to run well. If we get that thing up front beating around with that Bud car and that Miller car, it'll sell a lot of stuff."

SUPERSTORE

Of course, the Dave Blaney No. 07 Jack Daniel's Chevrolet Monte Carlo die-cast replica is now available in the NASCAR.com SuperStore. Our on line collectibles source also has a number of Dave Blaney trading cards available, including a coveted autograph card from the 2003 Press Pass Signings series. A 20-card and six card assortment of Blaney cards are also on hand.

With Blaney's stock once again on the rise, it might be a good time to get in on the collecting while his merchandise is still affordable. When and if he scores that first victory, don't be surprised to see the secondary market come alive with Blaney product.
